Green Whales opens with comedy setting the tone for the remainder of the 90 minute play. The Unicorn Theater hosts this quirky comedy about the dysfunction between family members and a love life.
Green Whales is the world premiere written by Lia Romeo. The play centers around two sisters battling through crisis with constant humor. The play features Karen very young looking philosophy professor with no serious relationship prospects and her sister Joanna as her matchmaker. Joanna tries to navigate her sister’s relationships while never venturing too far from a drink or the punch-line. Joanna is played perfectly by Vanessa Severo, and is a definite cast standout. The play runs straight thru for 90 minutes with no intermission which is the only real problem. Green Whales comments on family relationships with humor and insight. This is a don’t miss gem this season!
Green Whales is playing at the Unicorn Theater thru March 28th.
